The Open Innovation Site, Innovating With You, is a virtual site open to all local agents, whether social (centres for social innovation, social organisations, social consultancies, etc.), institutional (public bodies, development agencies, etc.) or business (companies, technological centres, universities, etc.) which show “sensitivity” towards disability.
The aim of the site is to proactively and systematically encourage collaboration with this collective, setting and addressing challenges to favor full integration of people with disabilities into society, and to encourage greater social cohesion in Vizcaya.
The site gives importance to non-technological innovation in the sphere of disabilities, making good use of Web 2.0 and the instruments available in the Basque innovation system to integrate different “lead users” sensitive to disability. The lead users are introduced to the concept of open innovation in an individualized, practical way. The site encourages cross-collaboration among these users, without geographical barriers and in real time, in order to resolve needs and daily concerns about disability. It also facilitates the implementation of real joint projects which generate employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
The site is currently composed of 3 cooperation areas and each of these is focused on a specific kind of agent, including “Skills”, the section of the site dedicated to Lantegi Batuak; “Etorki 4.0”, which attempts to attract Social Entrepreneurs with interests in the field of disabilities; “OpenLankidetza”, where the skill to generate joint value in the field of disabilities between Lantegi Batuak and our current clients can be seen.
During 2012 this site will be completed with 2 new cooperation areas. “E-rronkak” is a section featuring innovative business projects or activities undertaken jointly or singly by Lantegi Batuak and other social, business or institutional agents with a view to fomenting the employability of disabled collectives and/or their development of social inclusion and employment.
