Enterprising People - Facing Challenges

Do you have an idea for promoting direct hiring of people with mental disabilities by Basque town halls and companies?

This is the challenge which Lantegi Batuak took up when it began its first open project in June 2011. By the time the deadline arrived, set by the organisation to find a solution to this issue, we had over 60 different ideas, put forward by platforms or collaborative workspaces from the Agents of Innovation which have collaborated with us.

The first semestre of 2012 has seen Igor Lacalle, in collaboration with Lantegi Batuak, set up a points system permitting the evaluation, both quantitative and objective, as far as possible, of the projects and collaborations aimed at the labour insertion of people with disabilities.

The winning idea consists of Lantegi Batuak developing a system to enable them to acknowledge the work carried out in the firms which create quality employment for people with disabilities, whether by direct contracting, enclaves or outsourcing.

This acknowledgement could be of differing levels, where the highest would go to those firms directly contracting people with disabilities.
Once the process is finalised it is up to Lantegi Batuak to keep working along the lines laid out by Igor and to make it a reality.
