What is the occupational service?

In the occupational service people with mental disabilities receive proactive care, related to social and employment fields, through job training programmes, the development of personal autonomy and social integration. The aim is to make significant progress towards promoting social integration and people’s quality of life.

What is a Special Employment Centre?

In Lantegi Batuak’s special employment centers there are people working with mental, physical and sensory disabilities, and mental illnesses. These people receive the personal and social adjustment they need. The ultimate goal of these special employment centers is as a means to integrating as many people as possible into standard employment.

People working in Lantegi Batuak via this system do so through the network of 20 workshops, in service crews operating throughout Bizkaia or in any of the many employment enclaves we have set up in collaboration with standard companies.

What is Supported Employment?

We talk about supported employment or the transition to a regular job, when a person with mental disabilities accesses a place in an regular company, with the support of the Lantegi Batuak’s Lanerako programme.

Lantegi Batuak’s work is to support the person, through the help of a job coach, in the process of settling in to regular employment, by means of specific on-the-job training and continuous monitoring. The contracting company is also supported in the processes of evaluating the position, identifying the right people and resolving questions that may arise.

Lantegi Batuak’s Employment Support Programme is known as Lanerako .

What is an employment enclave?

The enclaves are legal entities under which Lantegi Batuak personnel are physically placed in the production centre of the client company.

What are the support products?

They are elements which enable a job to be adapted to the needs of the person in order to improve their working conditions. These products can be used to facilitate mobility in the workshops, reduce fatigue, reduce physical exertion, etc.

What is the Profiling Method?

The profiling method is a system developed by Lantegi Batuak to find which job is best suited to a particular person or which individual is best suited to a specific job. It also helps to know which aspects a person ought to improve in order to access a particular job.

The profiling method thus helps to create:
• the profile of the person to evaluate their abilities
• the profile of the job to evaluate the demands of the task

That is to say, it is used to make an assessment of the job, selection the personnel, facilitate the match between the person and the job, and draw up individual training plans.

What is an individualised support plan?

Individualised support plans are made for people with mental disabilities, traumatic brain injury and mental illnesses.

These plans gather all the support regimes that the person needs for their full integration into employment and society, and thus improve their quality of life. Lantegi Batuak offers this support and subsequent monitoring to assess the fulfillment of objectives and the person’s satisfaction.
